On May 16, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China held a press conference to specially introduce the relevant situation of promoting the high-quality development of integrated medical and old-age care services. Wang Haidong, Director of the Department of Aging Health of the National Health Commission, emphasized again at the meeting, “The integration of medical and old-age care services is an important way for China to actively cope with population aging, and also an effective measure to meet the demand of the elderly population for healthcare and elderly care services.”

Solving Medical Problems for Elderly Patients

Recently, a 103-year old patient with common duct stones and cholecystolithiasis accompanied by cholecystitis received successful surgical treatment at the Zhecheng TCM Hospital of Henan Province—a member hospital of HCHORIZON. The close collaboration of multiple departments put an end to the illness that had troubled the patient for 6 years. After surgery, the hospital offered professional and caring instructions on nursing and rehabilitation based on the patient’s age and specific conditions, and the patient recovered well.
